The country's biggest private sector lender, HDFC Bank, on Saturday said it has registered a marginal 3 per cent increase in loan growth at Rs 25.42 lakh crore in the December quarter.
Total advances were Rs 24.69 lakh crore at the end of December 31, 2023, HDFC Bank said in a regulatory filing.
The lender reported a 15.8 per cent rise in total deposits to Rs 25.63 lakh crore as against Rs 22.14 lakh crore at the end of the third quarter of the previous financial year.
The bank's average advances under management (advances grossing up for inter-bank participation certificates, bills rediscounted and securitisation/assignment) were Rs 26.27 lakh crore for the quarter under review, registering a growth of about 7.6 per cent over Rs 24.41 lakh crore in the year-ago period.
Meanwhile, state-owned Indian Bank reported a credit growth of 9.6 per cent to Rs 5.59 lakh crore in the October-December period as against Rs 5.10 lakh crore a year earlier.

Fair trade regulator CCI has dismissed allegations of abuse of dominance against Coal India concerning its e-auction scheme introduced in December 2022, ruling that the state-owned company had not violated norms.
Coal India Ltd (CIL), a Maharatna public sector undertaking under the Ministry of Coal, is the single-largest coal producing company in the world.
"In view of the... facts and circumstances of the present matter, the commission is of the view that there is no prima-facie case of contravention of provisions of the act warranting an investigation into the matter," Competition Commission of India (CCI) said in a order on December 30.
The case, filed by a Kolkata-based individual, claimed that Coal India's 2022 e-auction scheme replaced its earlier spot e-auction scheme 2007 with terms allegedly unfair to buyers, the order said.

Travel booking major OYO has launched a new check-in policy for partner hotels, starting from Meerut, introducing guidelines effective this year whereby unmarried couples will no longer be welcome to check in.
Under the revised policy, all couples will be asked to present valid proof of relationship at the time of check-in, including for bookings made online. OYO has empowered its partner hotels' discretion to decline couple bookings based on their judgment, aligning with local social sensibility, the company said.
OYO has given the directive to its partner hotels in Meerut to ensure this with immediate effect. Based on ground feedback, the company may expand this to more cities, people familiar with the policy change said.
"OYO has received feedback in the past from civil society groups especially in Meerut urging action to address this issue. Additionally, residents from few other cities have petitioned for disallowing unmarried couples to check-in at OYO hotels," they said.

The Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Rules will be refined further to connect children with technology while saving them from harms in the digital space, Union minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said on Tuesday.
While speaking to reporters, the minister said the rules will evolve based on the learning from their implementation.
"We will refine it (DPDP Rules) further to take the power of technology to children while saving them from many harm," Vaishnaw said.
The government issued draft DPDP Rules 2025 on January 3 and these are open for public consultation till February 18, 2024.
According to the draft rules, digital platforms can process data of a child only after taking consent from verifiable guardian or parents.
The verification can be done using voluntarily provided details of identity and age, or through a virtual token issued by an entity entrusted by law or by the Centre or state governments to maintain details of a person.
